The Pre-school program will involve singing, listening, performing, playing instruments, body percussion, improvising, movement and dancing. Movement and Dance will help you child learn skills of balance, flexibility, co-ordination and strength. The earlier a child learns these skills, the more confidence they will have in other sports. Studio III Dance is adding Modern Dance to the curriculum for ages 6 and up. Modern Dance was created in the 1920’s as a rebellion to the technical structure of Ballet. It is a free form style of dance that still requires strength and body awareness but is more individually expressive. It works on opposites, up/down, contract/release, and fall/recover. The dancers will learn to express emotions through dance. These classes will be in the regular weekly schedule.
